
Edwin Lim
Dr Edwin Lim is an educator with over two decades of experience, having taught at secondary and junior college levels, led an educational department in a private institution, and served as the principal of an international school in Jakarta (Indonesia). As Lead Teacher at Hwa Chong Institution, Edwin advocates for the development of the 21st century competencies, Character and Citizenship Education and well-being of students and the professional development of teachers, and is the school’s Coordinating Instructional Mentor and former Chair of Corporate Social Responsibility. He is also serving as Secretary of SPEN (Singapore Positive Education Network), which facilitates the learning, sharing and application of Positive Education nationally. He has conducted workshops and best practice sharing sessions at national and international levels, and has served as the Theme Weaver at various conferences by the Principals Academy. In the OECD Future of Education and Skills 2040 programme, he is the Co-Chair of the E2040 Schools Network, and coordinator of Hwa Chong Institution’s involvement in the OECD AI Pilot School project. Edwin is a recipient of the Best Teaching Practice Award and Outstanding Educator Award. He was the Chair of the international Global Digital Young Leaders Convention which was awarded the Ministry of Education Gold Innergy Award for educational innovation. Edwin is passionate about dealing with societal challenges, addressing the issues of people in need, and mentoring young people to be change agents. His key interest lies in helping people, especially youths, to exercise their strengths, be impactful changemakers and to lead flourishing, thriving lives.
